always one dimensional and he has lost a step.

10th overall in total points from draft year of any position.
2nd overall d-man points
20th game played
6th in games played by d-man
40+mil in career earnings,

Not bad for 63rd overall who was deemed undersized and had skating issues as a prospect.
how his analytics for his own zone? that is the problem.

But that's not really the question in hand. Nothing ruined the guy. He is pretty much is more than you can ask for given draft spot and the type of player he was when drafted.

Yes he's a flawed player, but the guy did more than what should be expected of him.

He was a third round pick who at age 32 has played 13 NHL seasons, 809 games and scored 505 points.

There’s nothing wrong with him…he’s blown away the expected outcome of a third round pick by a million miles. This is what you DREAM a 2nd or 3rd round pick becomes in a best case scenario.

He’s also an example of perspective…like next time somebody says your ballyhooed prospect who is lighting up juniors may be the “next Barrie” and the entire fanbase gets in a tizzy that “oh no prospect X has way more upside than a guy like Barrie LOLOL stop insulting him”…its worth considering the full picture. That yeah…your prospect is probably not the next Barrie, he’s probably not gonna come close to Barrie’s career.

The guy has made $42 000 000 playing in the NHL, led all dmen in scoring one season, has played in the best league in the world going on 15 seasons, has over 500 career points, and has played with some of the leagues very best players in McDavid, Matthews and Mackinnon.

Even after all of that, we have no named nobodies on here asking what went wrong with Tyson Barrie. HFboards at its finest I see.

Nothing... Absolutely nothing. Sensational career. His best role is 3rd pair and PP. 10 to 12 at evens. Rest at PP.

Offensive Dman are always criticized. Yet stay at home guys that get 10 to 15 points a season never are. They are both 1 dimensional and both help you win. Not many D that are elite on offense and defense... Maybe ten?
