What Should the Opening Day Lineup Be

WOW you know, with Lazar sticking that's really nice center depth. Nothing too overpowering but a really nicely balanced center depth. But he would need ice time. Maybe they'd put him on the 2PP & would be great in a penalty killing role.

I know you should fill the positions with the best players available for those positions, but I would keep Lazar off the PK. I hope the organization takes steps to try and encourage the growth of his offensive game without taking the risk of turning him into a defensive specialist. Sometimes it's unintentional, I think, but with heavy defensive responsibilities I think the risk is there.

They know better than I do though so I'm sure they'll put him in his best possible role to succeed and become an effective player for Ottawa.

So it would be more beneficial for him to just get 4th line minutes than getting 4th line minutes + PK time?

I don't see it. If he can PK, which he can probably do better than Michalek at this point, then put him out there

Hi guys!

Urgently need answer (would appreciate couple opinions).

Will Patrick Wiercioch probably play all 82 games if no injuries ?

Really appreciate all answers, thank you.

no chance unless he is traded that he plays 82 games, has been passed on the depth chart by other defenceman

if this is for a fantasy draft depending on the number of teams he may not be worth a pick up at all, if there are 16-20 teams maybe pick him up as a lottery ticket in your last round because as of right now he is on the outside looking in for the senators defensive pairings

Considering he's already slated to be a healthy scratch in game one, probably not.

Borowiecki is currently ahead of him, and whenever Methot returns, he will be too. Wier might get in when more offense is needed.

Weir's in the rotation for the 6 spot. Should be 5/6 but I doubt Mac will bench Phillips at all.

The Sens are running 8D at the moment, so an optimistic view is that he'll play 40 games. Pessimistic is about 20. Over-the-moon happy would be that he stops looking like Bambi on ice and runs away with the spot, since his offense is actually pretty decent.

Even Corvo played 25 games last season. Wiercioch, barring injury, will play more than 40 games.

Wier is like our slowest defenseman. That's bad when you have Phillips, Borowiecki, Gryba on the team.

Beautiful. Let's hope Paulrus gives those lines some time to gel.

There is scoring, and speed on each line (third line is the slowest, and still has Legwand and Smith)

I can see hoffman and Lazar having a Vermette like impact on the 4th line

So the defense tomorrow will most likely be?:
Cowen-Karl
Phillips-Ceci
Boro-Gryba

Not a chance.

I will say that if he gets anywhere close, he will definitely be worth a fantasy pick though!
