After Lecavalier, Heatley flop in Russia there are no more illusions - NHL is full of bums with little skill, some can't even properly skate. Take away Russians and other Europeans and you can rename it into the AHL. That's why Canada puts so much emphasis into the Juniors, cause at the senior level they can't even score a goal aginst the Swiss.

Oh please. He tore up the KHL when he left Columbus. He came back and choked - against players his own age no less. And a group of players in WJC's who proably as a whole are not as good as they were last year when he DID light it up. He's just not that good.

Need i cite the numerous examples of young players who have broken out since leaving that blob of a coach? As for Filatov excelling in the KHL. You don't think he would have an easier time playing in a league whose style he's been playing for 15 years? Name some Rookies who have had hat tricks in the NHL, playing on a defense first team, with very limited ice time, all while adjusting to the north American game. Columbus is the graveyard of young talent, quit lying to your self.

Then don't say playing in a second-rate league like the KHL meant anything more than a paycheque to Lecavalier.

When are you butt hurt NHL fan boys going to learn that we don't care what you think about the KHL. You highlight "second rate" as if it is some burn coming from people who don't watch the league and don't know what they are talking about. You guys keep stewing while our league gets better and better.

KHL. The leauge for little NHL fish in a big pond, to feel much, much larger.

Plus Canada took Olympic gold in 2002. When was the last time Russia struck gold?

They just don't have the tools for the international ice. Bad skating gets exposed very very quickly with all that space. It is jsut a different game. It is the same with some of our guys who are like Karp in a tiny fish tank when they come over to the NHL.

That's why Canada won the gold in 2002 on international sized ice.

Geez. You aren't very good at this.

The Russians tend to play more as individuals than as a team which is a live by the sword die by the sword strategy, they usually can't come together as a team for a common goal.

So why bother posting flame bait nonsense? Is there an emote for uninformed homer high fives that i am missing out on?

Go ahead. Call out your comrades that are posting flame bait like the refs are biased in favor of Canada in the World Cup and that Canadian players are bums.

Go on. Go right ahead.

Your selective outrage is hilarious.

As for the uninformed homer high fives emote, maybe ask pouskin and Siberian.

They have it down pact.

First one in 50 years. Now wonder why you guys are so pissed and antagonizing.

I don't think anybody here is angry at all. Antagonizing? Sure. It is a thread about why Russia messed the bed. Don't want to hear criticism? You know the way out.

What are they saying that isn't true? That 87 was the worst international officiating of all time? It's agreed upon by all, not just Russians. That NHL stars played poorly when they came over. The stats speak for them selves. Chicago got owned by a European club just this season. What do i need to call them out on? I already said our guys have problems adapting their games to the small ice.

There is already a good constructive thread about this in the Russia section. I don't see any thing here other then flame bait and butt hurt anger. Every Russian poster here has admitted our problems at the junior level and yet we have to defend the KHL, 1987, and other no related nonsense in this thread.

Yes, yes. Chicago was trying their hardest in a meaningless game leading up to the start of the NHL season.

/only losers whine about officiating, you know

How is what Siberian said different the half the stuff in this thread posted about Russian hockey and the KHL?

What was said about the KHL besides that it is a second rate league full of players who were generally small fish in a big pond (NHL).

If KHL was so great, why do two of the greatest players in the world, who both happen to be Russian, play in the NHL?

There is nothing wrong with being second rate, compared to the NHL.

Of course. Every time a western team or a western star does poorly it's "they didn't care about it".

Why would elite competitors care about embarrassing them selves and their league over seas? :sarcasm:

Talk about losers whining.

If you think that the KHL is going to last with all of it's corrupt practices you are deluding yourself.

At the pace the KHL has been developing it may as well put the NHL to shame in terms of quality of skill in about a decade. Wait until MHL picks steam up, Europeans join.

Are they paying the players now? Do they have working defibs yet?

That's swell!

Yawnnnn!

Yes yes all the KHLers are having heart attacks for free!

At least our new plan of Bear EMTs and paying our players in toilet paper and coffee rations will change things for the better!

GLORY to the REVOLUTION!
