I understand having hope and optimism that Cory will bounce back, but this is now a worrying trend of two straight years of poor play. His drop in play between 2015-2016 and the very next season was larger than a 38 year old (and over 1000 games played) Marty at the turn of the decade. His season has been very 2010-2012 Marty-like, only Marty would have the poor first halves and went on a tear in the second halves those years. Cory looked to bounce back early this year, this this death streak has pushed him down to regressing to last year’s level.
I don’t think he’s suddenly as bad as his last 12 games, that’s pretty hard to sustain, at some point the pucks will start hitting him on accident or by freak luck. I also don’t think he’s as good as he was before those 12 games started.
