I had a feeling NYI would be a nightmare matchup over the course of this season, and it certainly appeared that way. Just the tight, structured style they play is tough on such a young team up front IMO. I didn't think they got outworked, which was at least a positive. Definitely can learn a lot playing those guys.

I agree.

I think the next time the Devils face the Isles, they'll be better prepared 'cause they now know what to expect.

We are going good on 5v5...but jesus christ the PK and PP are some of the worst ive ever seen by devils team.
We did face a hot PK with the NY Isles. We won’t get to face the worst PK in the East but Pens’ PK isn’t great, because of goaltending issues, and the Flyers’ PK isn’t great, because of defensive issues.

Buffalo has only allowed one power play goal this season so far though, just like the NYI.

Think about it...Every single guy bumped heads to congratulate Blackwood for the last 3 games...Bumping heads is practically kissing in the realm of social distancing and now he's on a COVID protocal...I'd be a little taken aback if I heard that news right before the game myself.

According to Bastian they heard it in the morning. We didn't know till right before the game.

We also give up the zone wayyy too easily on the PK. Look at how easily we give it up vs. how much difficulty we have gaining the zone on the PP, it’s night and day. Partly because our PP is inept which is another problem

Hearing the PING! off the post while the puck is halfway towards the goal (IF that), all the while watching that shit show, AND having to watch RedDevilsDude during commercial breaks - it all made for a very nice evening.

When the sound of the puck hitting the post happened befor the puck got there, I thought it had been shot at negative light speed, if thats even a thing. Im glad it was just MSG effing up.

Except Tempo and effort still wouldn't have prevented a loss.

As @britdevil stated, this was expected considering we lost Mac and did not have our (hopefully) reliable backup DELL yet.

It's no sweat off my back but it really was a real downer of a game.

I thought the Devils could make something of it when Bastian scored early in the 2nd but once it went 3-1, it was over like rover.
Agree part of growing process....Want to see the young players develop and for Devils to continue youth movement and rebuild

The Rangers game in Pittsburgh last night had the same issues. MSG can't sync the broadcasters in the studio with the live on-ice feed, so you get the broadcasters matching up with the play on screen, but the on-ice sound is delayed.

Probably something we'll have to deal with all year for away games (home games don't have the issue because the broadcasters are live). For the Rangers and Islanders game, I watched the home feed instead and the audio was fine. Obviously won't have that option when we play teams like Philly and Boston on the road.

I’m out of market so am able to watch the home feed through NHL TV. Gonna start doing that for away games, could probably use the break from Cangy and Dano anyway
