Read an article the other day saying Botterill is the next GM to be hired again and has a top reputation amongst NHL circles.

Stated Pegula made him move ROR which looks like a good deal now with Tage and RyJo.

Most of the best players on our team were a result of him.

Has KA done anything? Eichel trade is looking like a lost.

Scary that he might be the best GM since Regier left.

Scary that people will gloss over two of the worst hires behind the bench in the last decade in the NHL to justify thinking Botterill is competent at his job.

GMKA inherited Nightmare and by extension, Snowballs. He should get another coach without being condemned.

But time is running out cause the SS Granato is taking on water fast.
What little credibility Adams has left disappears unless he hires a new coaching staff, top to bottom, pronto. This season might still have a lottery ticket chance of being salvaged, but not if he continues to ignore the situation.

He also inherited a team that was one point under .500 the year before. A mark they are woefully short of 25 games in after four off-seasons with him in the chair.

Guess he was better at everything else a GM should do minus getting a coach but Granato is just as bad.

Housley is a good assistant coach.

Kevyn might be worse than our last GM too.

What happens when your clueless owners hire nepotism family friends with 0 experience.

This team needs to demand a new coach. There can’t be any respect left or faith in the staff to get them where they need to be.

Somebody just reminded me that on day 1 Adams had to fire like 20 people. Then a season later he brokered the Eichel trade.

That’s the job he was hired for. I’m actually not sure he was ever supposed to make it this far. I think the intent was for him to be the fall guy.

I still think that Adams replacement is in the building and Pegula eventually hires Jerry Forton. A long time family friend. (Since well before he bought the team.)

Big Head hiring Krueger lead directly to Eichel and Reinhart demanding their exit visas. Two second overall picks exchanged for Tuch and a solid goalie prospect.

Take this to the bank.
The Sabres will never win a Stanley Cup while Pegula owns them.
While casting blame, we need to look at the one constant during the past 13 years of futility.

This ain't brain science people.

Botts inability to assess talent and let guys walk vs. Adams Regier-esque glacial pace? Eh, Adams is not good because he's not found more pieces to plug into the middle of his lineup but Botterill tried Scott Wilson'ing the team into something more. And then Remi Elie. Then all the draft pick wasting with Frolik and Scandella and Vesey and Miller and Montour and negotiating against himself to over-pay Skinner... We're really at the point that things like what Botterill did frittering away draft capital and walking from guys like Hagel or handcuffing his roster by taking Hunwick with Sheary? The constant conditions on everything? Dealing a 6th round pick for a later 6th round pick the following year? All of that is just swept under because the current guy is a different sort of poor at his job but compared to the titanic idiocy of Botterill's tenure, Adams hasn't even begun to approach that sort of shittiness.

The recency bias and anger on here is reaching critical levels. Having granato barely above Krueger on our drought coaching rankings lol.

Yep. Rolston's unprepared teams or Housley's unprepared teams were considerably worse than what is going on with this stretch of Sabres hockey. Phil's absolutely crushing use of O'Reilly as a d-zone guy was the key underpinning of why ROR asked out. Yes, Granato may have hit the wall with what he could bring out of this roster and I have felt for some time that his loyalty to his friends who he brought in on staff is a potential weakness that seems now to be exposed for what it is. But holy crap he got more out of them than anyone since Ruff.

Well said

Adams lack of moves is frustrsting. Botts moves themselves were frustrating.

At this point at least KA didnt pull a GMTM and blow his asset load early when the team wasnt ready to win yet.

Playoffs were/are the hope this season, but its obvious that a deep playoff run was never in the cards.

Adams still has moves to make, My only hope is whats on the ice is enough for him to get a move on it.
