I was wondering last night if Chevy was gonna bite. TSN panel was pretty sure he'd be claimed since they thought he's "good value".

He's better than our entire 4th line (hard to accurately rate Gus tho) so that's a positive.

I'm good with that. Can always use more good pkers and being able to be a positive posession player on top of it is good for a 6-9 min fourth liner.

Though I can already hear the "is Nick Shore underrated" threads and comments being thought up

Shore is a free pickup but would like to have seen what Harkins could have brought

Bourque and Appleton are due back fairly soon, I wonder if they'll stick Bourque back with Lowry-Copp for their grind line and then run Appleton-Shore-Perreault as the 4th.

If they do go that way the 4th line could end up having a huge swing from possession drag to possession powerhouse haha.

I too would rather see Harkins called up. What more does the guy need to do to get a shot. Player of the month and leading scorer in the AHL.

Not so impressed with Nick Shore.

Send Gus to the World Juniors. I'd think he's a top candidate for captain of that team and he's playing 6 minutes here.

Like any true Winnipegger, Chevy is addicted to picking up bargain bin items even though he has just as good items at home

Seriously, don't know anything about this player. Didn't cost us any resources other than his salary. While it's sad Harkins doesn't get a shot in the NHL, it does keep him on the Moose to help them stay competitive.

Hopefully he's a good 4th liner.

I'm sure gus doesn't mind the paycheck but it's hard to see how good this is for his development. So if it's a case of sending gus away and shore takes his place seems like a solid move.

Leading the league in waiver pickups, but I think Chevy knows what he is doing. He's a righty, so I think he could take Shaw's spot until Apples returns. Shaw is probably the weakest link of the 4th line. Adds some depth if Gustafsson is loaned for the World Juniors. Pker at centre helps, replaces the role Letestu was brought in for, as we are running two PK units for the most part. Could pair up with Apples to provide a 3rd.

He's had the dreaded Year in the KHL and is now ruined as an NHL player.

Shaw is brutal, but we have Chibby, Harkins, Apples (soon), Vesa and Spacek all making a case for some 4th-line time. Don't really understand this unless he's going to replace one of our call-ups on the Moose. Can't leave promising prospects in the A forever.

Or here's an idea... create a good, productive 4th line and give them more minutes. Just a thought.

I once saw Chevy driving around my neighborhood on Free Day looking for D men - true story.

If he can play on the 4th and actually be trusted to kill penalties, then it's a good pick up.

Healthy, our 4th line is probably Perreault-Shore-Appleton. That seems pretty good.
