Jason Spezza leads league (+/-) with -15
Its Jason Spezza on a Stars team with little team defense, mediocre goaltending and one of the worst goal difs in the league.. Not sure what is surprising you here.

The Flames best defenseman has been Dougie Hamilton. Their third line is their best line and Matt Stajan has been one of the best players on the team. Despite that, they are actually in a playoff spot right now. Yes, I know they have played 5 more games than Nashville.

Things are kind of upside down in Flames land.

Luca Sbisa, perennial whipping boy and Canuck most likely to be made fun of by the fanbase for being a defensively liability, has the best plus/minus on the Vancouver Canucks, thus far. (while also playing hard minutes, what with all the team's injuries to d-men)

Not really a measurable stat but McDavid has a healthy lead as the top scoring player in the league and is still young enough to play for Team Canada at the WJHC

Haven't the Canes allowed like 6 PPG against? They're winning off pure shooting volume and an inccredible penalty kill at the moment

David Desharnais has played 24 games, and doesn't have one hit.. don't know how it is even possible to not have one hit in 24 games averaging over 13 mins a game.

Pens vs Wings, every player on the Penguins team had a shot on goal except for one...Matt Cullen...who scored the empty net goal.

Pat maroon has 16 goals in 43 games with the Oilers. Had 26 goals in 204 goals before that. His GPG has nearly tripled

Jared Spurgeon has 54 Career penalties minutes, despite being a defender playing 20+ minutes a night for the last 7 years(around 400 games).

The only NHL defender that's played significant minutes (5000 Minutes between 2010-2017) with less PIM is Chris Tanev, and he's played 2,500 less minutes. No one with 8000+ minutes like he has, is even close.

This may or may not be as weird as most other statistics shown here, but Jacob Trouba is 17th in the league in ATOI (23:59), while essentially playing in the second pairing. Not stunning, I know, but if you look down the list, there are lots of 1Ds behind him by a couple of minutes.
