Edelman, Gordon, Sanu and Dorsett is a fantastic WR core. I would expect the Pats to get help on the OL before the trade deadline.

What sucks about it?
The Patriots draft (low) from the same pool of NCAA players as the other 31 teams. They operate under the same salary cap as the other 31 teams. They play under the same rules on the field.
The only difference is that the Patriots have a great(est) coach and a great(est) quarterback. That’s it.
Every year the Patriots match up against four division winners in the regular season, and high seeds in the playoffs. They're a great team, and fun as hell to watch.

Because it's boring if you want to see other teams win. It's like watching a new tv show and already know the ending - what's the point?
For a league that uses a salary cap, parity is pretty much non-existent.

Don't you think the Patriots are an anomoly though? We will probably never see a run like this ever again, in any sport. The point is to appreciate greatness.
i don’t think they are cheaters, I just think they have been beneficiaries of a division that since 2002 realignment has offered them less than epic resistance
It's not the Patriots' fault that the rest of their division has been run by series of semi-trained monkeys for 20 years. They're not the ones that make the schedule, they play who they are scheduled to play. Unlike in years past, they also have to stick to the same salary cap as every other team so what's everyone else's excuse for not consistently competing with the Patriots?
I was born in raised in NY state around Bills and Giants fans. I don't like the Patriots but this is not the National Participation Trophy League, this is the National Football League. Winners win and losers lose. The Patriots are the former.

As you can see, in most season, their winning% is actually better outside the division. Also, besides 2002 and 2005, they have finished above .500 against teams not in their division with the most popular record being 8-2, 9-1 or better (11 of 18 seasons).
They actually have a better record against non-divisional opponents from 2001 to 2018, so your point about being beneficiaries of a bad division is wrong.
Also, anyone saying the Pats are gifted the schedule this year should know that the NFL formula for determining schedules has not changed since 2002:
1) Two games (home-away) against divisional opponents (6 total).
2) One game against teams in one of the other three divisions in the same conference (4 total, 2 home-2 away). The divisions are rotated every year.
3) One game against teams in one division of the opposing conference (4 total, 2 home-2 away). The divisions are rotated every year.
4) One game against one team in the two remaining divisions of the same conference that are not played against in point 2 (2 total, one home and one away). The teams are chosen based on their regular season finish in the previous season. As the Pats finish first in their division virtually every season, they play the number 1 seed from the other two divisions every year (this year it is the Chiefs and Texans).

So I just saw on an article that the Saints had had the 4th hardest schedule of the season so far.
New England's was the easiest, San Fransisco's was 22nd hardest.
Is this.. A good metric to look at, or its mostly blowing wind to undermine teams with a better record?
