Hindsight isn’t even needed on this one. It was bad from the start. He can’t even be like a CEO type of coach.

Even their recruiting tailed off this summer which is pretty much the only thing he’s really bringing to the table.

Its not looking good this year for recruiting either. Meanwhile Tom Herman has energized a Texas program despite being 2-2 and will most likely finish with a top 5 recruiting class.

Troy is usually pretty good. They get a few SEC level guys who don't have the grades.

If you're an SEC West school scheduling Troy, it's like a girl agreeing to go on a group date with a bunch of guys who've been stalking her for years.

They don't just get a few SEC guys who don't have the grades (or other issues), they also get a bunch of guys who *in their mind* are SEC guys but perhaps are for some reason not deemed SEC material by SEC coaching staffs. You know, too slow, too small, etc. Those guys circle a game like this in their calendar and feverishly prepare for it. And this isn't just any old SEC game, this is LSU at night in Death Valley. One of the most notable occasions in CFB.

They caught LSU at the right time, too. Coach O has a legitimacy problem and it's not a good problem to have with a roster that already got one coach fired by checking out of a season mentally.
