bring back the BCS

the playoff is basically 'bama and 3 others' save for the fever dream that was 2019 and joe burrow

the playoff committee basically wants alabama #1 every year all the time

nick saban is the most overrated 'coach' in sports history

he's not the GOAT coach. he's barry switzer on the cowboys, a guy carried by elite talent

Would Michigan fans prefer to go to Miami or Dallas? I can see the committee slotting them in at #1 if it gave their fans the better trip. For Alabama both cities are kind of in the middle for them so I don't think it matters as much so they can be at 2 and it will be ok. Plus they've been rewarded many times before, would give another team a nice reward for a good season.

As a UCF fan it sucks that they weren't the first non P5 to get into the playoffs but it's not to see it's possible, even though the committee will do everything they can to make it almost impossible. I actually think Cincinnati had a better team last season than they do this season. They'll play tough and keep it close but don't think they have the team to win 2 straight against these teams.

Think Michigan deserves to be 1 and Cincy deserves to be 3. But it's all just window dressing at this point. The matchups are obvious.
I wouldn’t take issue if Michigan was 1. They did what they needed to to be there.

Nah, they’ll do something like…

1) Alabama
2) Michigan
3) Georgia
4) Cincinnati

… to set up a rematch for the national championship. The committee will always love one-loss SEC teams.

And we’ll have Notre Dame complaining nonstop and never getting the hint that being an independent isn’t their friend on the selection committee as nobody has a vested interest in helping them out. Granted, I’m fine with that, as I don’t want them in the Big Ten.

I miss Matt Corral. Just will have to settle for him shredding whatever team he gets in their New Year’s Bowl.

1. UM vs 4. UC
2. Bama vs 3. UGA

If it’s not that the committee is more rigged than a North Korean election

Independent was their friend both times they made it, even last year when they crashed on the ACC’s couch

I have already penciled in Alabama-Georgia for the national championship game. Maybe Georgia gets by them after a second try but I doubt it.

I know I won't bother this year.

It's not going to matter. But Georgia would have more of a home field advantage in Miami.

Then again, they just had a home game for the SEC Championship and got waxed by Alabama.

Georgia can beat Alabama with Daniels. I just doubt Kirby will make that change, he picked Fromm over Eason and Fields.

Probably what the committee wants. If Alabama wins by 40 they’ll get to hold it against the group of five forever.

I dig Pickett and jaw-dropped at his fake slide play, which ai thought was tremendous. But then ai wondered if QBs if the future will hate it because defensive players are less likely to give them the benefit of the protection that QBs are afforded?

Have seen I think it was Russell Wilson appear to be heading out of bounds and then tag a few more yards on. I guess that hasn’t really messed anything up so this probably won’t either but was just something I thought about.

what do you want to happen?

the best team is the best team, they are #1. teams had a chance to kill them dead and couldn't do it. again.

your problem is with the other coaches, not the committee or saban

Because all the 5 star recruits that are afraid to shine at other schools hide behind Nick Saban for draft value

Yeah, because they turn out NFL players and kids want to do the best for their future. And if it ain't happening, they leave.

Which guy would you rather be today? Graham Mertz or Jerome Ford? One wanted to buck the system being told how great he should be, the other transferred out of Alabama because he couldn't get on the field and has been a star player and still gets to go to the playoff.

so all these 5-star recruits, who all only go to alabama, and somehow don't work have the effort to keep themselves on the field while competing against each other
