Isn't it obvious?

Doug Wilson has found a Time Machine or a Fountain of Youth or both!

What these articles forget to mention is that he's referring to his NHL 14 team. Not the San Jose Sharks.

Offseason is not over.

Technically, it isn't. Chances are though that he's pretty much done all he's going to do. There won't be any premier trades since the value now would be poor and there are no replacements left in free agency that are at a similar level. They may bring on a depth player between now and the start of the season but that's about it.

Ok for the sake of argument lets see what happens when Mueller makes the team. The age of the blue line is pretty impressive

1. Thornton 35

2. Marleau 34 69

3. Pavelski 30 99

4. Couture 25 124

5. Wingels 26 150

6. Kennedy 28 178

7. Torres 32 210

8. Burish 31 241

9. Sheppard 26 267

10. Brown 29 296

11. Hertl 20 316

12 Nieto 21 337

13 Desi 28 365

14. Scott 31 396

15 Burns 28 424

16. Vlasic 27 451

17. Demers 26 477

18. Braun 27 504

19. Hannan 35 539

20. Irwin 26 565

21 Mueller 19 584

22. Niemi 30 614

23. Stalock 27 641

So 641/23 = an average age of 28. Probably not going to do it there however lets say both Hamilton and Tierney make the team out of camp. In response the Sharks trade Burish and Scott for picks:

641- 9 years for Hamilton and - 12 years for Tierney = 620. 620/23 = 27.... we are getting closer now.... That should be top ten....

Now if the Sharks were to trade Niemi to St Louis for Allen, a pick, and a prospect:

613/23 = 27, but 26.65 when expressed with decimals, that would be top five... so yes it is possible.

Outside of the very unrealistic trade proposal with St. Louis and the dumping of John Scott, I agree that it's possible. However, it is highly unlikely. This is just standard DW doublespeak.

i'm convinced that the loss to the kings has resulted in DW having a nervous breakdown that he may never recover from

he's lost it

For this to even be a possibility Goldobin, apples, Mueller, tierney, and Hamilton are going to have to make the team.

I bet Doug Wilson would react the same way if someone told him Pavelski's age.
