The sooner people realize playoffs are likely out of reach because the fired the stubborn ape far too late the better they'll feel about results.

The most important thing this season to erase everything that disgusting coach did. It's a work in progress but they waited far, far too long before making the most obvious decision in hockey.

But they're going the right way now.

This. We waited to long to fire that buffoon.

But seeing this team play at this level is a huge positive for me

Unfortunately playing the right way involves scoring some goals. It's good they are cutting down on the shots, but if going hyper defense means not enough shots themselves and no goals....we're still going in the same direction. It's nice we held the Kings to 20 shots....but we had less than 20 ourselves.

There are some positives to take from it. But not that many. One should not be happy about being shut out and barely being in the first period.

This is different. We already know this team can score goals, it's the defense that's the biggy. We lost in a very opposite fashion than what we are used to tonight.

Seriously, screw Randy Carlyle. He crippled this team so bad.

All the creativity with puck from Rielly have disappeared this season, looking at Doughty I realized what a great dman can do. I hope Rielly is not a bust at NHL. Trouba, Lindholm, Murray and Maattaa all look far more impressive at this point in their 2nd/3rd season.

This is the same **** soft team that quit on the last coach to get him fired. ****ing losers. Kypreos, said lots of players didn't want him back. So the slimey losers quit on him. Quite the bunch of gutless pukes. Kessel knows where the defensive zone is all the sudden. Wow, wonder how that happened all the sudden. **** I can't stand this teams pukes.

.

No need to give up yet. There's is a ton of season left, and our schedule eases up considerably over the last third of the year after this roadie.

Except Rielly and Clarkson. Rielly is not making any strides so far at all. Jake had a better game.

Rielly played the 3rd most minutes for the Leafs dmen, he was bound to make a couple mistakes. He's still learning and developing, growing pains come and go. These are the moments we'll have to live with if the Leafs truly go for a full rebuild at some point.

People should chant losers, losers at home games. The tickets are paid for so don't go there and get disappointed. Bust their arses until they fire nonuts.

...and out shot them, outpossesed them, &c.

When teams grab the lead early they can play a lot more conservatively and just wait for mistakes as they no longer need to push the pace, Washington played almost the entire game with the lead. Where as teams who are losing need to take more chances generally leads to more possession.
