I know most here (including myself) wouldn't be super thrilled with acquiring Sharp but would anyone be okay with a Kunitz for Sharp swap? We get rid of Kunitz, Chicago saves $2,000,000, we get a guy back that's a little younger and with more gas left in the tank. I'd consider it.

I'm not 100% on the Kessel train, but I would take Kessel 8 days a week over Sharp. Younger, more skilled, and only 2.1 more...for longer.

I just don't know what assets are involved. If Chicago would take a collection of WBS guys and Bennett or something...sure. If they want Sutter, Kappy, DP...no way. I think the rumor last Feb/Mar was Kunitz, Bennett, Dumo for Sharp and a pick, right?

I wouldn't do that. Well...maybe Kunitz+Bennett+2016 3rd for Sharp+2nd 2015. Then perhaps 2 2nds for a 1st? Or use one or both in a bigger trade...Sutter+2 2nds for...

Lots of possibilities. That's what make this time of year so great! Just like the TDL

I would, but I doubt Chicago would do that.

That blurb from Brooks in the last thread is pure speculation. He basically says the Pens want a top-6 goal scoring winger, Sharp is available, so the Pens will go after Sharp. It's pure speculation on his part, so I'm not concerned about it right now.

I'd be willing to add a little bit, but that would have to be the scenario. No high end futures as the basis.

Not really. I'd prefer that anyone we bring in via FA or trade be under the age of 30. I have a terrible feeling though, that GMJR is going to acquire him and it will be at that ridiculous price that was being mentioned.

I think I'd do it if there was literally no way to dump Kunitz for a pick by itself.

Friedman said in his most recent 30 thoughts that teams are calling about Skinner and Lucic. Skinner makes a ton of sense for us to trade for, based on everything JR has said he wants in a top-6 winger to trade for (speed, skill, youth and durability, although Skinner isn't too durable) and the Carolina connection. He'd also probably be pretty cheap (relatively speaking) to trade for.

anyone's thoughts on Lucic - Malkin - Grabner as a line next year?

That isn't bad really. Lucic on that line would afford Malkin to play the punk role as well getting some much needed protection and a guy using his big body on screens and Grabner adds speed and some skill that Geno would be able to spring him with passes. Both are still in their 20's, so it fits that criteria.

I haven't really payed attention to anything regarding the pens since the season ended.

Has anybody credible mentioned that the pens would be interested in Kessel? Or is this just wishful thinking by some of the fans?

Sounds about right.

If they made a deal for Oshie centered around Kunitz, how much more would that have to add? BB?
