But what if Hall is still not 100%? He doesn't look it.

And of coarse Hughes shouldn't carry the team, but if he is going to play like he did on Friday, he is going to be our best offensive player. Hopefully that was a signal of him finding his groove, and not just a one off. Having tracked him for almost a year now, I suspect it's the former.
Than he should drop in the lineup.

Is he willing to re-sign with no raise? Then sure, he can keep playing the way he has, otherwise no thanks. He needs to be way better or get out (or resign for cheap which won't happen).
That's a different argument, but yeah, if he doesn't show that he can regain his 17-18 form, then he should not get paid like he is playing at that level. But the seasons is still early.
Than he should drop in the lineup.

Well, it's not like he is playing poorly, just not as well as we have seen from him in the past. And if we are talking about moving him down the lineup you then have to ask which lw is playing better then him?

not as concerned about how much cap hall and pk take up because hughes will be on his entry contract the whole duration of that. then hughes+hall will be taking up the bulk and we’ll see how they are affected there, but nico is locked in and ty will be on his entry contract for a while. the cap will go up. more concerned about goaltending and coaching
