Dont worry flames fans oilers fans will soon be sightseeing the rocky mountains next round. I cant see them taking down the avalanche.

Should be a good series. Oilers went 1-0-2 this year with a 6-3 win and an OT and a SO loss. They have it in them...

Just like how the NHL wanted it! Do anything to let that f***er onto the next round
Down 1-3 and have had more PP opps in the series but still wants to cry about a 50/50 call that didn't even guarantee a win. You are saying there was 0% chance Edmonton scores in a 5-4 game where Marky is leaky, and Flames in turtle mode?

The game was still TIED after that call. How about the Lamers go and win it?

Nah, let's find an excuse to discredit the win, in a 4-1 series.

tough break on the disallowed goal for Calgary. I'll call it karma for the Oilers though for the disallowed goal vs. Anaheim in 2017 where there was clear goalie interference by Ryan Kesler.

Go Oilers, bring on the Blues/Avs.

Pretty bummed out this only went 5. Markstrom makes me feel better about Kuemper which isn’t saying much. Not sure what the hell happened there. McDavid and Drai put on a clinic.

Gaudreau was honestly pretty good. Tkachuk was completely invisible though
Honestly no one on Calgary looked very good. Maybe Backlund was alright. Otherwise they didn't show up to play compared to the Oilers group. A well deserved loss in 5 games.

Thought for sure someone would post the GWG. Guess I’ll have to use the NHL’s terrible app

Edit: it’s actually much improved

Nah, you know deep inside the NHL wants its McDarling to get his cup for the viewership, and will do anything possible to help that happen.

Except it will never happen with that core, and after 3 more years of failure McDarling will walk out as UFA. Enjoy him while it lasts!

These sort of tears taste the best.

Go Oilers!

Can someone explain what the hell Gaudreau was doing in the game winner though? He was about 5 feet from Draisaitl right as Draisaitl was getting the puck and he turned away from him and gave him the free pass to McDavid alone in the slot.

Agreed about Tkachuk. His career in the playoffs is sort of flummoxing. His style of play seems built for it. Other than game 1 he was a ghost.

The Oilers are going to see a D-man in Makar that is far and above anything the Flames got on their backend. That will be the difference.

Cheating for offense in overtime of an elimination game. You know, standard elite 5 on 5 hockey.

tkachuks mental is fragile as hell and he's going to have a hard time ever succeeding in the playoffs, especially without Gaudreau

Who knew the Flames were going to be way easier than the Kings. Must say the Flames brought it on themselves, not just cause they sucked, but they created absolute hate in McDavids and Draisaitls pure hearts towards them and they took that hate and shoved it right up the Flames’ ass.

Maybe not trying to end Connor’s career constantly would have granted you guys another couple of games. Just a thought. And be glad Gio bolted cause it would have been a sweep.

The Oilers figured out some huge lessons and made big improvements to get here how they did, but also Markstrom's form completely broke in this series and the Oilers attacked the hell out of it. The series winning goal was the least suprising thing that happened.

It honestly surprised me Calgary played such a run and gun game plan against Edmonton. What happened to all that defensive ability within the team? Gone in a flash in the playoffs. Calgary didn't do so well in the regular season by trying to score more than the opposition, they won by limiting the chances of the opposition.

Really, it was beautiful. Tkachuk turns it over in the neutral zone, Hanifin makes two butter soft plays on the dump in, Gaudreau is in lala land and Marky let's in a soft one glove side like he did all series. Poetic finish from the "best line in hockey"
