Well looks like our first round is official. Bring on the Kings.

So many storylines, including McDrai's quest for the 2nd round after 2 disappointing appearances, Woodcroft versus his former mentor in McLellan, an up and coming Kings team that's missing Doughty, and the veteran goaltending battle with Smith and Quick.

Lets get to the playoffs already.

Big test and nobody can overlook the Kings, but I believe in this team. Under Woodcroft, they are playing with so much better structure at 5vs5. I have faith in Woodcroft making necessary tactical adjustments. We also have miles better forward depth than in the last two playoffs.

Think it's going to be Oilers in 6 games.

The improvements on the wings should help compensate for how McDavid and Draisaitl are going to be interfered with every second of the game they play. Still concerned about the goalie battle and Nurse's health, though.

This is what I preferred because Doughty is out, but the poor guy must be choked right now

I believe we can win this series!!!!

I voted Oil in 7. Based on past playoff performances I don't expect this to be a walk in the park. The Kings have Kopitar and Danault who are capable of shutting opposing lines down while Quick is an x factor who could decide to go supernova on us

Imo the only reason not to pick the Oilers in 4 or 5 is fear over how the last two years went. Even though this year is different, I get it.

But odds are the Kings do not resurrect their 2012 form

Yep Quick could be a problem. Kopitar is a savy veteran who gets away with a lot. I think this game is going to 7 as well.

Quick, Kopitar and Danault are my biggest worries. Kopitar and Danault can mostly contain our top guys and Quick can catch what they don’t mostly.

It’ll be a series that comes down to depth and if Smith can keep up his play.
