Kuzmenko was very skilled and the team was looser in their play. Mikheyev also overperformed. You're seeing what he is now.

You've got the frame wrong, as with everything else. The frame is that when the superstar isn't going, what else is there? Very little. Last year, at least Kuzmenko was the skilled complement. Now? Maybe Hoglander wakes up. Maybe.

Canucks had some of the best 5v5 scoring this year and a lot of wingers like Hoglander, Garland and Joshua are solid 5v5 scorers. They could use an actual top line scoring wing who provides help on the PP, but the lineup itself isn’t actually that weak offensively, it’s just spread out over 3 lines. Pettersson actually playing normal and the PP not sucking makes a huge difference.
