8 shots is a one night thing.
There is nothing wrong with the build if Demko is healthy and Pettersson is playing like a 100-point superstar 100-point C.
Yes, another scoring winger would be great. But - again - every team has some things that aren't perfect. The problem for the last month or two is that we're getting zero value from two superstar players - one who is hurt and the other who has been atrocious.
If Demko is playing and Pettersson is capable of putting the puck into a wide-open net, we're winning this hockey game right now. It's that simple.
This team playing low shot hockey is a year long thing, not a one game thing.
Pettersson isn't expected to hit 100 points while dragging around non-legit top6 wingers. Mikheyev isn't one, and Hoglander is shooting an unsustainable clip, and hasn't been trusted on the PP.
This build ignores winger and PMD talent to its detriment. No team is perfect, but this one was knowingly built with 1 PP capable winger in mind, and it shows.
