I'm sick for Demko

Has never really had a chance to establish himself as one of the premier goalies in the NHL

Lots of injuries a long runway to a starter role with Markstrom and now after finally cleaning up the defensive mess here he gets untimely hurt.

9yrs we waited and to have playoffs and a dozen since a team that was any type of contender and now this....

I f***ing thought we had a few mores left of Demko. Cory Schnieder was even 31 before injuries derailed him.

This franchise needs a successor asap

Well my franchise future vote is for the team to draft Josh Ravensbergen from North Van, plays with Ty Smith for the Prince George Cougars.

Kid is 17 years old, 6'5 - 190 lbs and is a righty catcher.

This year in the WHL:
26-4-1 record, 6 shutouts, .907 save % ... in the playoffs so far is 7-0-0, 1.85 GAA and a .931 save%

He is 2025 draft eligible.

I think an injury to anyone but Demko or Hughes is survivable for this team to go to the conference finals. f***ing sucks.

I’m serious here, take a good look at Demko’s trade value and the goalie market

He’s trending toward Cory Schneider 2.0

When was the last time he had a healthy season
Your best friend has been lollygagging for 50% of the series and I have yet to see you make the same post about him.

This series is winnable without Demko, it gets a little muddier if we make it to round 2

This is how legends are made. Every player has to excel and play to their ceiling and we win.

This series is now on every players shoulders. That’s what I would tell the team if I was Rick.
Yes agree and i still think we can do Nashville with DeSmith but it's after that "IF" we get by them were in big trouble without a dialled in quality starter

I'd say at best the series is 50-50 without Demko, and it depends on if Saros rounds into form. The Preds will almost certainly score more.
I just hope that our defense can hold the fort over the length of the series. I don't think DeSmith is taking us anywhere though and if Demko returns from injury then he likely won't be 100%. Even if we beat Nashville in round 1 I can absolutely see us getting bent and spent by the Oilers in round 2.

That's good if true.

Best case, they rest him for the series and get him back to health while the team rallies around DeSmith. The series is very winnable and this will force the group to get into top form.

They will need Demko healthy beyond the first round.
