All this being said, I do think its kinda funny the GDT is 50% SHOOT!! STOP PASSING!! and the other 50% is WHY IS EVERYTHING BEING BLOCKED!! As if the solution to defenses over-committing to shot-blocking isnt passing (with the inverse also being true - overcomitting to the shot makes it all the easier to block), lol

Typical game for the Canucks. Set a post-season record for most shot attempts but also a record for most missed shots and I’m sure the Preds set some sort of record for blocked shots.

Nobody gives a shit about your offensive zone possession time or underlying metrics if you can’t score.

Team is obviously well coached, which leads to relatively good underlying metrics, but if you score less you lose the game.

Oh f*** off with this post-game though. The Canucks have the flu? That kind of explains some of it. But of course they'd get run through with a stupid virus in the middle of trying to do playoffs.
Upside is preds will have it by Friday too

DeSmith is now 1-5 in his last 6 (with meltdowns in LA and Vegas) and has been .875 in the last 2 months since the Minnesota meltdown

McDavid put up 5 points on LA yesterday. Even if we get past Nashville, the writing is on the wall for this year.

Well this was going to happen eventually. Not a single bounce or deflection went in our favour. This team needs to learn to score the hard ugly way. Way too much hesitation and perimeter passing. It almost looked like the ice itself was bad on some bounces. Nashville collapsed well and buried their few chances. Canucks carried the play and owned the ice most of the game.

Don't want to be too hard on EP, but he does need to simplify his game and go to the net more - his linemates too. Thought Hughes played well and was solid at both ends of the ice.

I think they are trying to beat goalie with perfect shots, that’s why they are holding on the puck for that extra second to get that perfect shot in. They just need to accept they just need to keep moving and throw shit on net. You throw 30-40 shots on net and Saros is going to f*** up.

That's the way this team can win, but you have to get more than 1 in 5 shots on net to do it.

Even a shot that doesn't register as a high danger chance would be welcome if it were on net. Make the goalie make a save.

I don't think anyone expects us to win the cup now. But that doesn't matter. All that matters is winning on Friday in Nashville. It's the playoffs. Anything can happen.
