Big Game Story: Western Conference Final’s Round #3. The Los Angeles Kings have already been in a predicament like in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs, coming back from a 2-0 deficit against the St. Louis Blues in the Western Conference Quarterfinals to advance in six games. The Blues, however, were more physical than offensively gifted and they simply weren't as balanced as Chicago. That's no slight to St. Louis, either. No other team in the NHL was quite as balanced in its scoring depth, defensive play or goaltending than the Blackhawks, who are starting to play that way again in the playoffs.
KINGS need to remind BLACKHAWKS, KINGS FANS and THEMSELVES which team won a Stanley Cup Championship in 2012 not 2010. GO KINGS GO !!!

2013wcfschedulernd3.png

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Back in LA. Time to show them how the Kings can play hockey.

Just win it. Down just one game and on our way to tying will feel a lot better.

Yeah, if it were any other team than the Hawks, I would predict a shutout...

We need our forwards to step up in a big way. Someone needs to lead the charge, or else we're done.

3-1 Kings.

deploy Clifford.

Good idea, ending up on the PK early in the game after yet another stupid Clifford penalty will be a wonderful way to gain momentum at home.

How about instead of trying to goon it up and "punish" the Hawks, the Kings support Quick for once and score a goal or two in the first period, that would go a long way towards getting back into this series.

How many multiple goal leads have the Kings had in this post season?

Three if I am correct , all shutout's by Quick.

Quick will have to play the Game of his life again, the Kings are not scoring more than two.

The Kings simply don't have the legs or (health) to challenge the Hawks healthy D.

Oof I just realized the Kings are gonna have to win four out of the next five.

Oh well, one game at a time. Expecting Quick in beast mode. Hopefully the offense starts coming around and we break out of this funk.

If the game is out of hand in late 3rd, I want Quick chasing people. He can chase Kopi, Brown as well while he's at it.

Oof I just realized the Kings are gonna have to win four out of the next five.

But nothing has really changed for the Kings in that regard. 3 of those 5 games are still at home. That doesn't guarantee anything, but that's where the Kings were before the series started. The Kings still only have to win 1 game in Chicago, if they can win at home. That's where the Kings were before the series started.

If the Kings lose either Game 3 or 4, the equation completely changes.

As of right now, the morning of June 4th, in terms of winning a series, you'd rather be the Kings than the Penguins. Whatever that's worth.

Win it for Richie!..Do not go quietly into the night.

For this team to get to this point it should be viewed as a successful season coming off their Championship considering the key injuries suffered this season and the slow start but I am greedy and I want more and I know these guys can muster up the effort and come back in this series.

Let's do this!:yo:

Sydor25

LA Kings
Kings biggest advantage was their strength down the middle. Kopitar at 40%, Richards out and Stoll at 75% means the Kings need Quick to play out of his mind for 4 out of 5 games.

I don't see the Hawks losing 4 out of 5 games. No shame in losing in the WCF against the strongest regular season team. Of course, winning the next 4 games would be beyond epic. :D

We could be fans of the Penguins, who have the best 2 players in the NHL and their GM refuses to get them defensive help. Their GM acquires additional offense at the deadline. :biglaugh:

Of course thinks have changes greatly.

Before the series, as you say, LA had to win all it's home games, and one win on the road.

But after being dominated by the Hawks in the first two games, and still assuimg that LA will win it's home games, LA needs to to win 1 of 2 away games, previously it was 1 in 4.

And after being dominated in the first two games, the chances of LA winning 3 out of 3 homes games took a serious hit too. Remember, the Hawks lost only 3 away games all year in 24 regular season games. It's not like they are putty on the road, like LA.

Before the series started, many we predicting the Kings to win. Not many are now.

The Kings have been bad on the road since the playoffs started. If people were picking the Kings to win this series, it was with full knowledge that the Kings were bad on the road during the regular season, and even worse in the playoffs.

Nothing has changed until the Kings actually lose at home. Lose tonight, and the series is pretty much over. Lose in Game 4, and it could be officially over, or all but over. If the Kings win the next two games, it's a 3 game series where the Kings still have to win 1 game in Chicago if they keep winning at home. Same as before the series started.

What has changed is the opponent is better than in the 1st or 2nd round. Chicago has the top end talent that St.Louis didn't have, as well as the depth that San Jose didn't have. But again, if people were picking the Kings to win this series, they knew that before the series started too.
