I was going through some of my 45s again....... A Horse With No Name, America.

I think '72 or so. I guess I liked it back then....not too bad now......

The back story for me was in '72 when it came out [since it was like No.1 for a few weeks]....... one of the Philly AM stations had a contest to name the damn horse......

The winner was "Un Caballo Sin Hombre" , which translates in Spanish into a A Horse with No Name..../...kind of cool........I think the winner received two tickets to a Flyers game when they were probably $10.00 a seat at the old Spectrum.

Everything was slower in the 70s. This song was emblematic of that time spent in the sun with friends and without a care in the world.

Dino Jelusick has emerged as one of the truly great rock voices of his generation.

Look at the way he tackles Jane by Jefferson Starship, which already featured a phenomenal voice in Mickey Thomas.

Just as a reference, here is Thomas performing Jane live:

Here is Jelusick’s version:

Was never a big Stones fan but liked some of their songs. One of them, Can’t You Hear Me Knocking, was reprised brilliantly by Santana.

Never knew that Paul Anka wrote Sinatra's My Way, and Tom Jones's She's a lady. V

Saw the Stones 3 times. '66 '69 and '71. Loved 69 concert because BB King was opening act. 71 concert Mick Taylor was in his prime as guitar god. Sticky Fingers just came out. But the highlight was Gimme Shelter from Let It Bleed.

Rest in peace Charlie...

No matter how many times I play it, that damn opening riff gets me every time.
