Do you know how shooting percentages work? When a player is shooting like 1\3 of their career shooting percentage do you think they've suddenly lost the ability to score? Or is it more likely they're simply having a bad stretch of shooting and will likely return to normal eventually?

Again, of course I understand this. Yes, the player is playing well enough.

But that does not mean they should be able to escape criticism. Right now, Bratt isn't doing enough to help the team win.

LOL I don't think Bratt's going to the KHL anytime soon, I'm pretty sure Kekko was referring to Gusev. Hell maybe Sharangonov too although I'd hate to lose him at this point.

Honestly there isn't too many guys on the roster who aren't scapegoat-worthy atm. It's just some get criticized disproportionately more than others playing just as badly or unproductive.

It's either the role guys or the vets who get 90% of the bagging here, if anything I'm tougher on the younger guys at times cause they're the ones we need to see more of down the road. Palmieri if you want to bag him fine, if he continues to suck he'll play his way out of town. If he doesn't, he'll start to help win more games. We aren't necessarily counting on him to be a key piece five years down the road either way though. We need guys like Hughes, Nico, Zacha, Bratt, Hischier, Blackwood, etc to improve and not be statis or regress if our eighth year of rebuilding is finally gonna see some fruits when we're supposed to be good in another 3-5 years.

So really...your issue is not Bratt, per say, but it's "Everyone is to blame".

Indeed it was a team loss. Overarching is the fact that Blackwood is giving up soft goals more then he was and we can’t win much if he does that.

What I saw today though - in the half game I watched until we got behind with their 3D goal - was a team lacking confidence. Maybe a tired and smaller club physically too. The amount of turnovers. Whew. We threw away the puck at a Hynes era pace. Our guys looked scared and nervous. We’d get possession and break out, and then miss a five foot pass in center ice while everyone bailed out prematurely too for the back check. We lost pretty much any one on one battle too with their more sizable roster.

Vatanen really misplayed that 2 on 1 on their 2d goal. Their first was a terrible rebound by Blackwood.

Wonder how long it takes until they mandate having to keep the ear covers on. That Wood injury looked nasty. Scott Stevens had a brutal shot to the ear cause of not wearing them. Crosby wears them so clearly not a hinderence to one's play. On our team Hughes is the only one I know that wears them.

I hate the summer of 2019. f*** that summer. Also was the start of some BS in my personal life that I’m still feeling today.

I’d like to wipe the summer of 2019 (which were good memories, but led to a lot of BS) from my memory.

Between those acquisitions that turned out to be awful in the end and all the “Schneider was a .920% goalie the last 16 games. He’ll be bounce back this year” which for me was the only thing I could have predicted right (that Schneider would be no good again) I just wanna forget that all happened. Not to mention the “Hall Will re-sign for 7 years @ $11 or $12 million” posts.

The in zone passing was crisper a week or so ago. These last couple of games the decision making looks way slower.

Because it takes them and extra second to handle every puck and make a pass and by then the play is dead. It's so annoying.
