If this regime ends up with as many good forward prospects as they're shaping up to have on defense, it's gonna be one helluva ride in a few years.
Cries in Grigorenko, Ryno, Pulkkinen, Elfstrom and Frk...He’s got a good name. He won’t bust for sure.
Tread lightly.Cries in Grigorenko, Ryno, Pulkkinen, Elfstrom and Frk...
Don't thrown Grigorenko in with those others. If not for that car accident that almost killed him he would have developed into an impact player for Detroit.Cries in Grigorenko, Ryno, Pulkkinen, Elfstrom and Frk...
Add Mazur and maybe Kasper too. That had the potential to be a strong team.Really awesome hopefully both he and Cossa start out in GR next season will be great to see how they do.
He has already done more than cholowski in a pro leagueI go with him, hate, like, meh. I believe he's Cholowsky 2.0, but we will see
Be that as may, he still should have been a good player. Igor was a good KHL scorer. He thought the AHL was beneath him (not wrong), but because he didn't try he never got a shot.Don't thrown Grigorenko in with those others. No he didn't think the AHL was beneath him, he couldn't keep up with the speed of it. He lost a lot of his speed after the accident. He is NOT a bust. He was a boy who got into such a serious accident that his chances of living were 10% (might be off on the number). He lived and had a successful career in the NHL which further proves just how talented he was. Try to keep this in mind for context: Datsyuk and Zetterberg never played a minute in the AHL and neither would Grigorenko if he didn't get hurt. I'm well aware of the Grigorenko story. Shorter Kovalchuk with a bit of nastiness. He peaced out after 5 games in the AHL. If he can hang in the KHL he could have been an NHLer. Probably not a top liner but a middle six physical goal scorer. Just didn't want to ride buses. Don't really blame him... but not making it is on him.No he didn't think the AHL was beneath him, he couldn't keep up with the speed of it. He lost a lot of his speed after the accident.
