I think some of you are still misunderstanding why lists get screened.
Errors, omissions, and incomplete work. Not stupid opinions. For that purpose, trying to prove that individual participants' opinions are stupid and wrong has no bearing on the screening process.

That's what I meant by "I'm not judging pageants".

I would have absolutely thrown out The Generals list.

There is zero justification for having Ovechkin at 11, Mike Bossy at 18 and Crosby 48th, behind Brett ****ing Hull....

Harvey 20th?

And then no posts that I'm aware of to argue the defense of such rankings.

Crosby was flagged. He was lower than 48th.
It didn't end up having any kind of effect, considering Crosby became available at V2 and was voted in at V3. Crosby would STILL have been available for voting at V2 even with Crosby's original ranking (for ease of reference, it means he was ranked "Higher than 97th").

Had Crosby been ranked, say, 15th (lower than median, but still in median range), he would've leaped Shore in the aggregate, which would've changed absolutely nothing, since both were available at the same time.
