Big drop off here. I think Jensen but I can't bring myself to do it

So we're into my value with a fourth or fifth round choice here.

In some order:

Zhukenov
Tryamkin
Jensen
McEneny
Neill
Gaudette

I have a tough time voting for a guy like Jasek, who the Canucks value less than their earlier picks, so early after the draft. I haven't seen them play (except Neill who is meh), so it's tough to overturn the Canucks draft order.

Now you gotta go for the Boom-Bust guys. Ceiling is what matters here, as one of these guys COULD hit it. It really seems pointless to vote for guys who may become replacement level some day.

Tryamkin and Zhukenov and Jasek are neck and neck in this regard, and I think Jensen as fallen beneath the three of them.

I'm voting Tryamkin. I think his bust risk is the lowest.

I remember Jensen's brief stint on the big team and the disappointment afterwards to see him buried in the AHL and not getting another chace. Obviously he's been very, very disappointing since but I still wanna believe he gets his head out of his butt and does a final push. It's neck-to-neck with him and Tryamkin, and then I think there's a bit of a fall.. it's coin toss, and I'll go with Jensen.

This year is basically Jensen's last chance with the organization. With the loss of a bunch of vets down in Utica he has to claim that top line RW spot or he's done. For a lefty he sucks on the left side from what I've seen and I think the only way he ever makes it is as a permanent RW.

Based on what?

He's 6'7 and mobile. Not to mention already two years of KHL experience under his belt and he's still 20 years old. He's pretty sure fire for a number 6 defenseman at minimum. Zhukenov on the other hand has a more difficult road to the show. Tryamkin should be ever higher than this. It goes to show our prospect depth is pretty solid.

That in no way guarantees he'll be a 6 at minimum. He's shown very little in the KHL so far, which doesn't really make him seem like a future NHLer. Maybe he'll be better on the smaller ice, but it's nowhere near a sure thing.

I honestly think Jasek is a better prospect than Zhukenov.

NHL Central Scouting agrees with you - Jasek ranked 23rd for International Skaters and Zhukenov ranked 61st. Benning must have seen something at the U18 Tournament that made him like Zhukenov...

Perhaps reminds him of Russian Mike Peca?

He was the 6/7 on a very low scoring team. That's common for the youngsters. Brule actually played on the same team and was 44gp-10g-5a-15p.

Not good or bad, just tough to get a read on the guy. Really need to see him at the AHL level.

But I've seen his WJC play and was impressed. The guy is smooth for such a big body. Should get at least a look.
