When Canucks miss the playoffs by 2-3 points they should really be kicking themselves for losing 3 games on home ice against bottom 5-10 teams (Buffalo/Ott/Det) during the stretch run
They lost both home/away games to BUF/DET...thats 8 squandered points right there.

I really don’t get this Buffalo, Detroit , and Ottawa dissing thing. They aren’t that bad lol. Especially when compared to us. Well they are bad but we are no spring chickens. We can easily lose to all three on any given night. We aren’t like Tampa . We are 4th in our division and it’s a weak division 😂 They are 5,6, and 7 in a much stronger division. 🤷🏻 There’s honestly not that much between us.

In fact, Detroit is being built nicely by the Tampa architect and Ottawa has Chabot, batherson, tkachuk, norris, and stuetzle. Love those pieces actually for the price. Well tkachuk already getting 8 mill and norris getting a big raise next year but still it’s a good group.

But who am I kidding. There’s no reasoning with people that actually think we are better off than LA is. 😂

Well said. The whole keeping Benning past the 2020-21 disaster Canadian division season was the biggest reason for this seasons failure. Not just the losing start but the OEL boat anchor and trading away top end picks was just such another faceplant for the franchise. Yeah losing to other loser non playoff teams was bad but why bicker on that instead of focusing on the bigger picture of this seasons results and the near future of the franchise impacted by keeping Benning here for so long

It's very likely that Vancouver will pick 15th overall. The last 15 years have produced some pretty good players for teams drafting 15th overall. Before that the talent pool wasn't big enough and you were likely to not get a good player. I would say we have a 50/50 shot at getting a top 4 d or top 6 forward. Or a 20% chance at getting a Dylan Larkin or JT Miller level player. Both were drafted 15th overall.

NHL Players selected at the 15th draft position

Vegas vs Dallas tonight - if Dallas wins, Vancouver will be eliminated. I don’t think that would quite eliminate Vegas, but it puts them on the brink, as Vegas needs Dallas to go 1-1-1 the rest of the way while they run the table.

Yeah, Tuesday night for that matchup. Vegas winning in regulation is the only result that keeps the Canucks alive.

Feeling that someone else's team is horrible makes a person feel less badly about his own team. There's been a lot of feeling badly about our team to overcome the past few seasons.

You tell him! That was not word for word what you said! It was the same general idea but not those EXACT words. You got him PoM

:snide:

So who expressed the same general idea?

How many people on here are not in favour of acquiring a #1 RD...what about getting a #2 RD?

Is the cut-off being willing to re-sign Miller because you don't want to lose a 90 PT 1C for pennies on the dollar (despite having to commit to him to keep him)?

Wouldn't those moves necessitate significant off-season change?

Vancouver:
87 points - 3 games (6p) = 93 max
Kraken, Kings, @ Oilers
1 non-playoff team, 2 playoff teams
38W 31RW 35ROW

Dallas:
93 points - 3 games (6p) = 99 max
Golden Knights, Coyotes, Ducks
2 non-playoff teams and the team that is chasing them
44W 30RW 40ROW

Vegas:
90 points - 3 games (6p) = 96 max
@ Stars, @ Blackhawks, @ Blues
1 non-playoff teams, 1 playoff team, and the team they are chasing
42W 33RW 38ROW

Strength of Schedule (easiest to hardest):
1) Dallas
2) Vegas
3) Vancouver

Upcoming Games:
Canucks vs Kraken 7pm (Tuesday)
Golden Knights @ Stars 5:30pm (Tuesday)

Removed Nashville and Los Angeles since they are now out of reach for the Canucks. Technically the Knights could pass the Kings (Vegas wins out in regulation and LA loses both their games).

Word. Hopefully the hockey gods don’t give us that .01% and give us the .03 and .08 lotto win odds instead. Lol

Well the Canucks CAN win these last 3 (Seattle, LA Edmonton) but I can't fathom Dallas losing to the Yotes or Vegas losing to the Hawks with their season's on the line.
