I can’t, for the life of me, understand why the OP is so defensive about such a horrible proposal... it isn’t a good starting place to continue the thread.

NSH isn’t interested in trading either player. And even if we were, the return isn’t near what we would be able to get from others.

Forsberg is overrated but fabbro tilts this too much for nashville to consider it, imo.

He's having a down year (as is his entire line) but he's a bonafide 1W.

Never scored more than 64 points and 33 goals in an 82 game season.

Whereas boeser has put up 55 points and 29 goals in a 62 game year. And boeser is 3 years younger.
With cheaper cap.

I'd say if there is a gap between them it slightly favors boeser, but if someone thinks forsberg is better...it's extremely minimal.

So if that's the case, imo, the difference is fabbro is better than the dman going to Nashville while being exempt from expansion.

Yes, he's never hit more than 64 points, but you're ignoring the fact that he did it in 67 games while playing above average defense. Boeser is three years younger, but he only makes a whopping 200K less than Forsberg.

Well, boeser did 55 in 62 games. Doesn't seem like much of a separation. People treat forsberg like he's a super elite winger...I just don't see him being in a level above boeser. Equals, imo.

You have a point. Still, there's no reason to trade Forsberg, he's putting up .77PPG in a down year and he's only 25, even if we absolutely blow up this team he'll still be in his prime when we're done rebuilding.

Fabbro's been one of our top 2 prospects since we've drafted him and now that he's made the big leagues he's had a solid season as a top 4 guy. No reason to deal him for an older more expensive defenseman with lower upside.

I would say Forsberg has slightly more value right now, and tougher in the playoffs. But I love how everyone here swings their pieces at each others faces
saying see how big my opinion is. Disagree, agree but man like every trade thread gets so heated... it's an internet fight, let that sink in.

To Nashville:
Forsberg, Fabbro

To Vancouver:
Boeser, Stecher

Seriously though, Forsberg would cost us Petey, Bo or Miller (I suspect, being a center/winger). Boeser is great, but not the value or position Nashville would want.
Nashville coach benched Forsberg several times recently for poor effort. What’s going on there?

New coach setting a tone. I don't know if it was for poor effort, poor positioning or bad turnovers. Johanssen, Duchene, Grandlund, Arvidsson and Turris have also been sat because of it.

Pretty much everyone not named Josi.

LMAO. What a joke. "Forsberg would cost us Petey, Bo, or Miller". Quite the difference in value chum. Nashville could trade their entire team and it would still not be enough to get Petey. Watch more hockey.

There is a difference in value, but why trade Forsberg for a similar piece in Boeser, when many of their fans want a center (and ours are either much more or much less valuable).

It's not about watching hockey, it's about empathy and realising not every team is here to support the team you cheer for.
