Getting rid of Biega was a poor idea because the Canucks will always need 8 NHL quality defencemen for when injuries inevitably strike. Biega was safely down in Utica where he had no impact on roster spots and the salary cap situation, and should have been retained as the team's 8th defenceman until a prospect proved they deserved to make the team ahead of him.

sorry, but they have brisbois, saunter and a couple of others that are all close in terms of overall skill with Biega. Personally overjoyed that they put biega in a better position.

It's because you don't give away good D depth when you've had a recent history of injuries on the back end and you're trying to make the playoffs.
Biega doesn’t tip the scales when it comes to making/not making the the playoffs.

Only in Vancouver are people still pissing and moaning about a trade like this.
This is just funny. Especially the likes. Why not Ignore the thread.

Look right above the page listings at the top of the page. Click “ignore thread”. Boom now you can keep on keeping on.

yep, it's not just biega and not just the popular or fringe guys. the team has been loading the roster with guys with 1 way contracts and nhl expectations knowing that prospects may displace them. that whole situation needs to be managed carefully and consistently. i think they've done that.
Lol. The two biggest AHL contracts are Benning’s and he’s got $6m In the pressbox. Real careful.
