Game Day: Raptors vs. Mavericks
Matt Tierney - Raptors.com
Time: (7:30PM ET - TSN, TSN1050)
Toronto (17-12) will be looking for a bounce-back performance tonight as they host Dallas (15-12) at Air Canada Centre. The Raps will want to quickly move on from their home loss on Sunday to the Kings. The Mavericks come to town on the back of three days rest after defeating Memphis at home Friday night.
WHO’S HOT?
Chandler Parsons – It’s unlikely to consider a player in good form who has season averages of eight points, three rebounds and two assists per game. These are the numbers that Parsons is putting up in his second season in Dallas but they don't tell the whole story. The small forward is slowly making his way back from offseason knee surgery after sustaining the injury in last season’s playoffs against his former team Houston. He has started the year coming off the bench with a minutes restriction but slowly has increased his production and broke out in Friday’s win over Memphis putting up 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Patrick Patterson – One of the silver linings in Toronto’s loss to Sacramento on Sunday was the strong play of Patterson. The Raptors have been waiting for their power forward to hit top form after a slow start to begin the season. With Jonas Valanciunas and DeMarre Carroll out and after a Lowry ejection and DeRozan foul trouble, Patterson found himself playing extended minutes. He responded with a season-high 18 points and eight rebounds, including four three-pointers. Toronto will hope he can keep it going tonight against the Mavs.

Mavericks at Raptors
Air Canada Centre
Tipoff: 7:30 p.m.
TV: TSN1
Radio: TSN 1050
Probable starters
Dallas: Deron Williams, Raymond Felton, Dirk Nowitzki, Wesley Matthews, Zaza Pachulia.
Toronto: Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, James Johnson, Luis Scola, Bismack Biyombo.
Key matchup: Kyle Lowry vs. Deron Williams.
With 15.1 points and 5.9 assists per game, Williams is enjoying a rebirth in Rick Carlisle’s system, working off another point guard in Raymond Felton. Of course, having Dirk Nowitzki as a recipient of your drive-and-kick game is always a plus. Lowry will have to shake off a recent shooting slump (he’s shot .207, .444 and .308 in his last three games) and be ready for another fast-paced backcourt, much like what he saw on Sunday against Sacramento.
Need to know: The Mavericks are coming in off of a 97-88 win over the Grizzlies, but have dropped three of their last five games and have split their last 10 . . . The Raptors have taken four of their last six meetings with the Mavericks . . . At 37, Nowitzki leads Dallas in scoring, with 17.2 points per game and leads the team with 0.7 blocks per game . . . Tuesday’s game marks a reunion between Canadian national team members Cory Joseph and Anthony Bennett (with the Raptors) and Dwight Powell, with the Mavericks . . . In his 13th season, Dallas centre Zaza Pachulia is having a career year, with 10.2 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. His career numbers are 7.1 points and 5.8 rebounds.
Up next: Saturday at Milwaukee, 5 p.m.
