What would the NHL’s return look like? The details of a format being considered

Signs continue to point toward the NHL eventually returning to play later this summer. Although there are a myriad of moving parts to finding the fairest, safest way of resuming the 2019-20 season, it is becoming increasingly important for the league to be able to provide some clarity to its players, teams and fans regarding plans for the NHL to try and close out the season with a Stanley Cup winner. Some GMs indicated they are hopeful the Return to Play committee will settle on a format by next week, but that might be optimistic given the recent back and forth between the players and the league on a final format.
