Vancouver and Chicago have announced today that they will withdraw their cities from the 2026 bid, both are pretty much "bombshell" announcements, especially Chicago
If rumors are to be believed, the Morocco bid is gaining momentum as FIFA changed the voting procedure to select future World Cup hosts, now every federation will get one vote. Africa will obviously vote in a bloc for Morocco and it is believed most of the Arab world will as well. Not only is it politically motivated but the likes of Sunil Gulati (who is still involved in the 2026 bid process) is not very popular in world football. Also, the bid is seen as too US-centric globally. Theoretically if Morocco can gain the support of CAF+AFC, they are practically there (they represent nearly 50% of the voting bloc)
However, the North American bid will generate A LOT of money for FIFA and I'm sure they will use that to their advantage
