has a goalie ever joined after round 1 elimination before for us?? I can't recall any - I am sure Henrik has played for Sweden when the Rangers got bounced after round 1 but those guys take this far more serious obviously..so I think we go to battle with what we got, and what we got is looking might pathetic.

well, there goes any chance for Kane to play - he has spent the past 25 games playing in front of Swiss cheese for goalies - doubt he would come here for the same without elite goaltending, defense, and a real shot to win Gold...

Just was told Anders Lee is getting married in the summer (like we haven't heard that before lol!!) so he is likely out - damn shame - 40 goal scorer would look nice on Keller/Larkin wing
Jack Eichel - pretty much said he wants to rest and heal
Patrick Kane pretty much said why should I go to play with these B teamers and rest of Hawks then likely won't come like this is f***ing high school or something..
Johnny Hockey likely out dad and health concerns probably not wanting to leave the country..
....so yeah looks like another B team

honestly, I would like to see the young guys like Gillies, Demko, Nedle, Morris, etc get a shot here...what else do we have to lose by going with the kids over backups who have been brutal this year??

Would like to know the source on Kane/Hawks dissing the selections so far?
At some point, USA Hockey must take responsibility for the lack of organizational focus on the World Championships. Not only is their annual "send an all-rookie/NCAA team and use the WC as self-scouting for future Olympics" strategy not working (one Oly gold medal in almost 60 years) it also means that the U.S. continues to fail at every WC, which helps motivate guys NOT to go the next year. It's lose-lose.

excuse after excuse - they just get more interesting as we go- and he just said a week ago he would love to come as he never represented his country before...now the sudden change?? this thing doesnt start for weeks but he cant go because of his sick girlfriend. hope she will be ok. but this is the norm around here with what we hear when players decline.

you have to respect the man's dedication! he is also minoring in Sanskrit - so this has been one hell of a ride for R.J who will one day be able to start his basket weaving business and be able to speak a dead language not spoken in 10,000 years - so thank you USA Hockey for not taking up any of his precious time over the past decade.

it is crazy to look at our rosters the following year, they usually look much better becuase the kids have stepped up and taken over NHL roles...this team was talented last year, and 2 starting goalies and that defense right now!! I don't know if we get anything close to this team this year.

I guess this is exactly what USA hockey wants from this tournament. How much this tournament prepare guys for next year its hard to say but probably Worlds can give you something.
Edit. Gally confirms that he will not play at the Worlds. Can we already say they should just go with NCAA kids and give them good experience.
