The UFC has the facilities and resources to determine exactly what weight class every fighter should be fighting at. This kind of stuff shouldn't be hard at this point. Joanna has always had trouble making 115, is getting older, and just bolted a few lbs of weight onto her chest. Plus the UFC just opened a 125lb division. I just don't get why she's fighting at this weight.

If the UFC is just asking Waterson to do them a solid and fight for the same money at a higher weight, I absolutely support her telling them to f*** off. She's an atomweight. She doesn't need to give Joanna even more of an advantage. Hopefully it works out or hopefully she ends up making some more money somehow.

The commission actually pulled the ref from the Davis/Gifford fight from the card. Only other time I remember something similar is when the UFC pulled a judge from one of the events they were overseeing after a couple of terrible scorecards.

It's true that Gifford was getting beaten up pretty bad, but I'm not sure if there was really a great moment for the ref to stop the fight. Obviously it ended with a massive KO so it looked bad but I'm not sure how much blame I put on the ref.
