I think of the 10-15 teams who could fit him in their team structure. Those names might be near the bottom of the list. Pavelski, Couture. MacKinnon, Rantanen. Schenn, Tarasenko. Gaudreau, Tkachuk. Marchessault. Hall, Hischier. Marner, Matthews.

Like, there’s all stars out there. Some even on his level or above. That’s a pretty big like.

About the same age as Heatley was when he hit the wall. Nash is a marginal player at this point. has not hit 40 points in 3 years. Less than 30 this year. The point was it does not matter where he signs as his best days are a long way behind him.

His point was obvious; namely, that you do not know if Montreal will bring Tomas Plekanec back or the player's level of interest in returning. Many of us in Toronto, myself included, think Plekanec never wanted to leave Montreal in the first place.

Matthews has absolutely nothing to do with the conversation. Of course, you already knew that.
