The United States defeated the Czech Republic 5-2 in the gold medal game. The United States team featured goalie Edwin Minney, who was a draft pick of the Niagara IceDogs in 2012. Minney, who recorded a shutout against Denmark in his only tournament action, is apparently considering signing with the IceDogs for the 2014-15 season.

Brent Moran was also in the tournament in goal for Team Canada. (not sure if he got into any games). But, if Minney signs with the Dogs either Minney or Moran would likely get dealt. I couldn't see two goalies that will likely be NHL picks this summer sharing the same net.

Good problem to have if your the Dogs and Minney decides to come.

It seems as though Niagara is becoming London east when it comes to drafting USA players. They drafted a few this year including at least 3 in the first five rounds.

Their defence already includes 3 Americans in Aaron Haydon, Blake Siebenaler and Zack Wilkie.
