Wonder if he gets some sort of consideration for the Norris this year.

He wont win it and I dont think he deserves to... But he is in the Top 10 for scoring among Dmen(While playing at least 8 games less then everyone else). And perhaps more importantly, when Erik Johnson went down with an injury for the Avs he stepped up into the #1 role and played the best hockey of his career.

His stats while EJ was hurt: 13 Games, 5 Goals, 13 Assists, 25:51 TOI Per game, 41 Shots.

Barrie would probably have hit 70 if he hadn't gotten injured. A too large chunk of the Avs fanbase wants to leave him on a curb somewhere in Edmonton because he doesn't play defense gud but his positive impact on the game is getting hard to ignore. He's a really important part of that team.

I'll joke about him being trade bait when he scores a goal, but he will leave a big void if he leaves.

Not only does he have huge chemistry with MacKinnon on the ice, they're pretty much best buds off the ice. Can't imagine MacKinnon being happy if the Avs just ship him off despite his good play.

It really does seem like a lot of people just want to finish trading away our '09 draftees.

Wow... this honestly might be the most underrated stat I’ve heard this season.

Since that’s the case, he’s easily one of the top 5 most underrated defensemen on HF.

Please don't let my obsession with Leon call into question my love for t-boobs...

...but yeah, way too many avs fans don't seem to understand how special he has been for us. Nevermind the chemistry he has on & off the ice with our core.
He's finally become the PP specialist he's been accused of being for years.

Under-rated post...and avi...

Oh, never! You wouldn’t leave him on a curb; you’d totally drive him to the airport for Leon. ;)

Good for him, he's a talented player and it must've sucked to constantly be in trade discussions the last few years. Avs would be foolish to let him go.

Yes he is a good offensive defence man, always has been but he is a pylon in his own end. That has always been the knock on him.

That has always been a meme that gets repeated. Just like how hf thinks he's a PP specialist, even though prior to this season his PP production was trash compared to his 5on5 #s. Tyson has long been perfectly fine defensively and has been even better than usual this year.
PPG baby!! But what's he "on a pace" for?

71 points in an 82 game season
