Clearly he hasn't been as effective as we all wanted but it's absurd to write off a 21 year old kid. Let's give him at least another year before we even start that convo. I have a gut feeling he's going to rebound with a solid season with the Marlies. He still has bottom 6 potential in my eyes.

Looks like he has made himself into a useful Marlie. Two steps forward. Good for him.

I remember pointing this out to all the Kadri bashers about 1 year in. If you are looking for patience and reason, head to another board.

And what "reason" do you have to suggest Tyler Biggs is anything but a colossal disappointment?

Do you see something the rest of us can't?

I'd love to hear it.

when did he do that?

Hasn't done it yet but he is looking much better than last year. He looks lighter and quicker.

I think he could be a useful guy and play a regular shift for the marlies this year.

Biggs needs to be traded to Detroit where he'd likely blossom into a solid 2nd liner. ;)

He's probably only going to be a 3rd or 4th liner with us, if at all! :p:

I'm pulling for Biggs to make a big jump this year in the AHL...Anything less than 15-20 goals and I'll be disappointed.

He's a bust that's what happened to him. Not sure if he got injured with the baby pens, but he hasn't live up to any of his hype anywhere since being drafted...I'm not even sure he's good enough for the AHL...

I watched him play a couple of times with Oshawa. Has ok speed, skating, and puck skills but just seemed to not have any sort of hockey iq.

You know, I've seen Tyler Biggs twice with the Marlies. He scored a nice breakaway goal in one and generally looked like a first round pick: big, fast, good skill and shot. Then you realize he can't put it together at all. Don't even know what's wrong with him. I think if you were a scout and saw that on the wrong occasions you would have wasted a first rounder too.

He isn't a healthy scratch. He has had chronic injuries. Last season his season ended due to a torn Achilles. I believe he has also had repeated shoulder problems. This year he's listed as suffering a "lower body" injury.

He may be a bust but you have to feel for the guy. He can't stay healthy and when he does play, he's playing through injuries. It would be hard to for a high skill forward but for the type of forward Biggs was projecting to be he has little chance to make himself a player like this.

Which makes me wonder how I saw him on the golf course this summer

Exactly my thought. I watched him quite a bit that year - he was a decent player in Jr. Main reason being that he was in a mans body already, piggybacked on good linemates and able to get in decent shooting spots.

You could tell that he wasn't anything special, at all, eventhough he played 1st line mins. I was so disappointed the whole year that we took brick brain and not his 1C, leader and light years better NHL prospect, Boone Jenner.

He is big, fast, strong , aggressive, has decent hands and a heavy shot.

All the tools no toolbox I guess

Sounds like Kyle Beach.

Looks like Tyler may want to look into Euro hockey as well, atleast he has the ability to have a solid life out of it - live in another country, make some money - hopefully have something lined up when he retires.

I still stand by the fact that him leaving college was the worst thing for his development. The OHL I think gave him a false sense of what he actually was in terms of a player

You couldn't golf.

it really depends at what point of his recovery hes at, if hes ROM is good enough, hes out of his boot, and hes been given a green light for strength with some limits I don't see why he couldn't play golf

- hockey on the other hand is different with varying extremes of dorsiflexion needing for a full stride the force transmitted during edgework and stopping, and the possibilities of the unknown due to contact
