Sceviour won't be signed until Klefbom is on LTIR. So wait another day or two. Roster deadline is today, so expect more moves tomorrow.

I expect Perlini Shore Turris to be the 4th line then.

That line is nightmare fuel.

Two guys who had some of the worst defensive results of any forwards in the entire league last season and a guy who flunked out of the league because of terrible defensive play.

Hopefully Tipp can get them the butteriest of butter soft matchups.

For one sweeping conclusions made based on analytics are wrong all the time. Next if not merit from pre season/training camp what do you base your roster off of? These are the players that earned those jobs.

They earned those jobs because the alternatives were even worse.

Holland rolled the dice on rookies who weren't ready and terrible vets and now we just have to hope they don't suck too much.

Weak.

If Turris is on the roster for some reason, that means they won't sign Sceviour. They're at 13 forwards now. 14 with Turris.

Reported (and posted in other threads) Scevior to take Kassians spot if Kas can’t go. Sounds like Holland and his agent are working out a deal.

Holland should just resign and let some Rando Twitter Fanboy with JFresh WAR charts to build a roster and negotiate contracts.

It has nothing to do with analytics unless you consider goals against an advanced stat haha.

Both Turris and Shore would have been outscored more than McDavid outscored opponents at 5v5 last year if they played the whole season and they've both been greatly outscored their entire careers.

It's just pure arrogance and stupidity if Holland/Tipp expect them to give the team quality defensive play.

He really should have just signed some defensive stalwart 2nd liners for our 4th line amd we wouldn’t have this problem. :groucho:

Shore was on the ice for 12 goals for and 15 goals against at even strength last year. Far from the disaster your making it out to be. If he’s with some guys who can actually produce that easily swings into the positives.

He was on the ice for 17 goals against at 5v5.

Turris managed 18 against in 27 games.

This isn’t last year and Shore wasn’t as caved in as you make him out to be. Preseason this line outscores their opponents 5-0 at evens IIRC.

Differing lines offer differing dynamics. Turris isn’t a C anymore and Shore looks good at 4C. Last year he played mostly W with crappy C and crappy other wingers.

Turris has put the work in and Perlini has as well. Preseason they showed well, let’s see what they have to start the year.

They also have a legit 3rd line with Ryan Foegele that can take on more defensive workload putting shore in a better position.

I'm all for optimism. I'm just not betting on three guys with a decade plus of terrible defensive results to miraculously improve after one preseason.

Out of the 3 I think Shore will stick. I expect McLoed to replace Turris at some point this season. If Perlini can get 15 goals from the bottom line that’s also a huge plus and he’s done that before. Also these lines don’t play in a vacuum. We have a much stronger cast in front of them and a rising tide floats all boats.
