This has been a line in preseason and I don't think either of these carried the others. They worked together fine where Shore is probably the best of the 3 overall and Perlini obviously offensively

I expect Perlini Shore Turris to be the 4th line then.

That line is nightmare fuel.

Two guys who had some of the worst defensive results of any forwards in the entire league last season and a guy who flunked out of the league because of terrible defensive play.

Hopefully Tipp can get them the butteriest of butter soft matchups.

They earned those jobs because the alternatives were even worse.

Reported (and posted in other threads) Scevior to take Kassians spot if Kas can’t go. Sounds like Holland and his agent are working out a deal.

Both Turris and Shore would have been outscored more than McDavid outscored opponents at 5v5 last year if they played the whole season and they've both been greatly outscored their entire careers.

It's just pure arrogance and stupidity if Holland/Tipp expect them to give the team quality defensive play.

Shore was on the ice for 12 goals for and 15 goals against at even strength last year. Far from the disaster your making it out to be. If he’s with some guys who can actually produce that easily swings into the positives.

Turris managed 18 against in 27 games.

There’s that old salary cap thing that gets in the way of signing 2nd liners to play 4th line however.

They also have a legit 3rd line with Ryan Foegele that can take on more defensive workload putting shore in a better position.

I'm all for optimism. I'm just not betting on three guys with a decade plus of terrible defensive results to miraculously improve after one preseason.

Out of the 3 I think Shore will stick. I expect McLoed to replace Turris at some point this season. If Perlini can get 15 goals from the bottom line that’s also a huge plus and he’s done that before. Also these lines don’t play in a vacuum. We have a much stronger cast in front of them and a rising tide floats all boats.
