I’ve decided to go for a different “theme” each month, and this month is gonna be the big one, my top 200 prospects eligible for the 2018 draft. There are some overagers and unheard of prospects to most included, but that’s what you get when making a list of 200. I’ve seen ALMOST every single player on this list at least once, with some just a highlight or good word put in. Thanks for the continued support on my monthly endeavour. If you have any ideas on what type of ranking I should do next time, let me know. I know there will be some people who are confused why I haven’t included a certain person. The answer is probably: I haven’t watched them! If you have an idea of who you think should be on the list, let me know and I’ll try to watch for next month’s edition!

April would be a good time for another list? Surprised at Bouchard and Wilde in the top-10 but not in a bad way. Here's hoping VAN can draft Wahlstrom if that top-5 is taken.

This doesn’t seem like a great year for goalies. I’ve seen so many different rankings with guys always scattered.

Skarek didn’t look great in the WJC but I don’t think you can judge too much on one tournament. He seems to always be one of the top3 goalies rated.

It’s kinda hard as a 17 year old on a team with that defense. He’s still quite raw. I do have some help on my goalie rankings with a friend who specializes in them though.

How do you even know 200 players? I think Tkachuk is top 5.

Good job! Agree with most of the Swedish players. Think Nils Lundqvist could rise a bit tho. Don't think Wernblom will go ahead of Westfält due to his bad skating and small size. I would also rank Ragnarsson ahead of players like Filip Johansson, Adam Ginning & Axel Andersson.

This is actually a fantastic list, Tryamkin is a great poster with a very good track record, he's my best friend on the forum so I'm obviously just mocking him...

Lots of watching my man, I try to expand my pool of players by 25 or so each month. I’m not a huge Tkachuk fan, the offensive side of his game worries me, and the WJC hasn’t really changed my mind.

no I'm the guy that said we will not draft Cody Glass, Casey Misttelstat and Vilardi if all 3 were still on board.

and yes, I do have sources. But it's a no go around here, so what's the point.

Absolutely a fantastic list. Don’t agree with all of the rankings but that’s the joy of scouting, everybody sees something different and has different things they look for. Really looking forward to your other rankings!

The most interesting name to me is Dennis Busby. Thought he was a potential top 2 round prospect before the season, question is though with his injury how high do you rank him/how much do you think a lost year of development hurts him long term? I like his placement here because these are all questions you can’t answer until he comes back. Wouldn’t at all be surprised that when he comes back in a years time, we’re talking about him as a potential “steal” from the draft.

    Thanks!
Busby is very intriguing to me. I don’t think it will screw him long term, young kids get injured in their draft year all the time and can bounce back. I do however think that it will lower his draft position in comparison to where he would’ve went healthy. In that circumstance I can absolutely see him being a draft steal. Khovanov is another one of those. Easily a 1st round talent but underexposed due to being out with Hep A the entire year.

How many times have you seen Dominik Bokk? What were your impressions..is he a true LW or a RW? I've seen several sources list him as RW or occasionally as both.
