"true" 2nd line/pairing calibre players?

Skjei is a #3 right now (gonna be better).

I'd say Miller and Hayes are true 2nd liners, but I'm not sure. Same with Zibanejad.

It's arguable that the majority of the Rangers top-9 is in and around the "2nd line" tier of talent.

Stepan, Hayes, Zib.
Zucc, Kreider, Nash, Miller.

All solid contributors, but not really true top tier guys.

Zaitsev. Probably Gardiner, though some people would look at his advanced stats and start an argument he's a #2, I think he's clearly a #3.

Kadri is a really low end #1 I think. You likely won't win anything with him as your #1, but he's in the top 30 for centers I think. Bozak is probably the only clear forward here for the Leafs. JVR, Kadri, Mattthews, Marner, and Nylander all ranked in the top 30 in their position. Komarov and Brown were just below the threshold for a 2nd liner so right now would be clear 3rd liners. I can see Brown creeping into low end 2nd liner territory next year though. And it will be interesting where Kapanen falls here next year assuming he gets regular time in the top 9.
