Which players on your team (or anyone elses) are of "true" second line/pairing calibre?

The definition is obviously pretty subjective, but basically just name the forwards and defensemen that would be on the second line on the majority of teams.

Kesler is definitely a 1st liner on a lot of teams, take it from the Habs fan, he's better than everyone we currently have at centre.

A name that came into my head was Brendan Gallagher. Sure he had a rough season, but he missed time with his 2nd consecutive hand injury. He was really good down the stretch of the regular season, and when he's healthy, he's good for 20-25 goals and ~45 points, all while providing those intangibles that has made him known throughout the league.

As for 2nd pairing, Jeff Petry comes to mind. He isn't really someone you'd want as your #1 RD, but he's more than capable of anchoring down that 2nd pairing.

Montreal
On Montreal, feels like most of our top forwards are ''2nd liners''. None of them are in the McDavid, Crosby, Kane mold, which are obviously first liners. While Pacioretty can score a lot of goals during a season, his overall play doesnt lead me to believe he is a true 1st liner.

Same story with Gallagher and Galchenyuk. They are good of course, and just like Patch could play 1st line with a Getzlaf or Ovechkin, but in the true sense of the word, they are not 1st liners.

I think Lehkonen has developped into a 2nd line player this season. Guys like Byron, Danault, Shaw, Plekanec are 3rd liners in my mind.

Alex Radulov is probably a 1st liner. He has a ton of skills and plays with so much intensity and heart. I would classify him as a 1st line player.

On the backend, Weber is one and Markov is borderline. He's been playing incredible despite his age, but if I compare him to other guys around the league like Doughty, Karlsson, Letang, Josi, Burns, Hedman he falls in the lower half for sure. So a ''maybe'' for Markov.

Petry is a solid 2nd pairing guy. Emelin/Beaulieu can play on a 2nd pairing, but in the pure sense of the word, I think they belong moreso on a 3rd pair.

I'd say Cammy is more 3rd line at this point. Moore is probably a 4/5, Merrill is a 5/6 and Prout is garbage.

I think Zajac, Henrique, Greene has probably regressed from a 2 to a 3 at this point and I think Severson is borderline #2 but most likely still a 3

I feel like Mike Fisher's career is the perfect example for this thread
