That's not really accurate. Blackwood had a great D+1, but certainly struggled in the AHL. I'd also say his 23 games this year is much more impressive than what Hutchinson did as he literally played on a NJ team that was not only bad but injury-riddled. It is a small sample size, but from NJ's perspective he just cannot be traded as he fills a major organizational need and showed a ton of promise.
I said he was bad after leaving Jr. That is D+2, not D+1. His Jr numbers were very good.
His 23 games this year were good, but not as good as Hutchinson's start was in '15. Hutch had a very strong AHL career behind him at that time too.
Good for NJD that he played so well just when Schneider appears to be fading. I wouldn't trade him if I was in your shoes either. It would be a mistake for Wpg to spend assets to get him now though. We have our starter, a good backup and a promising prospect in the AHL.
