Does anyone know why huska isn't on the roster? I thought he was going to be playing in NA this year

Like I said in the prospect thread:

That top four on defense could be the best out of all the teams.

Graves, Skjei, Andersson, and Zamorsky, Two top defensive prospects, and two guys who played extremely well in pro leagues overseas.

Exactly fly! ;)

We also have a top goalie.

But I agree that we are weak up front. Boo Nieves would have helped a lot.

This tournament cant come soon enough!

Really excited to see what Gropper can do; seems like him and Tambo will be heavily counted on for one. This is tourney that Skjei should dominate. He should go in there with the mindset that he is the best defenseman in the tournament.

Real hockey right around the corner!

Huska is being recruited by some schools to play college hockey in the near future. 2016-17. He can't play in a tournament with pro players. Huska could be one of those players who would have been a top free agent at the age of 22-23 like Matt O'Connor but the Rangers used a seventh round pick to acquire his rights. Smart play.

Zach Bratina is a player Gordie Clark really likes. Bratina was at Rangers prospect camp. On July 3,Clark and Cerny were talking about the camp during the stream. Clark brought up Bratina as a player he likes.

Really happy that Jayden Hart is getting a shot. He's intriguing. Could be a late bloomer. He went undrafted and the Sabres AHL affiliate gave him a chance, four goals in eleven games. He has snarl and can score a few goals. Maybe a late bloomer who can turn into one of those fourth line physical muckers the Rangers haven't had since Prust.

The forwards are all up to Tambo and Gropp to score goals.

Good chance to see how Morrison can play against his piers as well.

Similar to the logic behind the Nanne pick from last year. Take a raw kid with upside hoping that he turns into something greater after a few years maturing in college.

Hopefully Jerret Smith can impress and earn himself a spot in the ECHL or Hartford. He played very well for the TBirds

I am pulling for Keegan Iverson from what I read about him he is someone we could use and the type we never develop is his upside 3rd line or could he blossom into something better

Very long shot of him becoming an NHLer, IMO.

The few times I saw him, the effort wasn't consistent. He's a tough kid, but some nights he didn't impose his will physically as he did on other nights. He's good defensively though and has some skill. When we talk upside I think anywhere from a 13th forward to a 3rd liner who plays well at both ends. I'd like to see the offense take a step forward this year.

Very long shot of him becoming an NHLer, IMO.

I think the odds of him making it are about what you'd expect from the 85th pick in the draft. Possibly slightly better since he brings something to the table even if the offense never pans out. Once you get out of the second round, pretty much everyone is a long shot for various reasons. If they weren't long shots, they'd go in the first 60 picks or higher.

His game came on as the season progressed. He has the opportunity to shoot up our prospect list with a strong, consistent season.

Iverson had a poor first half last year but a lot better second half.

It should be kept in mind at least as far as his production numbers that Iverson was 18 years old last year--not 20--like Tambellini who put up point a game + stats and Nejezchleb who put up point a game stats in the same league.

Iverson has size--is very strong and skates very well although the bits I've seen of him he's a better skater when he doesn't have the puck. If he does make it he will be a bottom 6 winger with a physical game. Personally he fits kind of in the mode of someone like Dale Weise. Anyway I think he's got a shot. In my eyes he's a better prospect than Nejezchleb ever was. Iverson needs to improve this year and be more consistent game in and game out.
