Holzer had a great game, but lets not get carried away. He was brutal when he was called up.
He wasn't brutal - it was a learning curve thing - plus he's playing for the leafs

Who would be the first goalie to come up should JR or Bernier get hurt?
Sry if its been posted but Gauthier will miss the next 3-4 weeks.

Among the more interesting nuggets today was thought of returning Joffrey Lupul to the top line. Carlyle said he might experiment at camp.
Seems like Carlyle wants to run Kessel/Lupul and Kadri/JVR to start camp. Wouldn't be shocked to see Komarov/Kontiola, and Booth/Santorelli as the other two "pairings".
Bozak, Clarkson, Winnik, and Frattin plug in the holes. Holland, and Bodie/Orr scratched.
This might be one of the toughest preseasons yet for Leafs' management in regards to offense for not only this season but for next. So many players and so little spots going into this season. Outside of JVR, Bozak, Kessel, Kadri, Lupul, Komarov, & Clarkson, no one has secured a job on the Leafs. Frattin, Santorelli, Holland, & Winnik are more than likely safe for now, but that only leaves 2-3 spots for strong candidates like Booth, Smith, Kontiola, & Bodie, as well as young guns like Leivo, Nylander, Ashton, Carrick, Broll, & Devane. And of course we can't forget about dark horses like Abbott, & Kozun, and enforcers like McLaren, & Orr.
On top of this, you have to take into consideration that Booth, Smith, Ashton, & Bodie are not waiver exempt, and that outside of the obvious 7 who's jobs are safe, only the young guns, plus Holland, & Frattin (also young guns) are signed for next season as well. So it becomes even more important on who plays this season, so that next season, if Winnik, Santorelli, Booth, Bodie, & Kontiola are all looking for raises, we aren't starting over with an all new bottom 6 next season when we can't afford the vets. I think the right balance of vets and rookies/young guns is going to be key, and some of these vets aren't going to make it.
My best guess is
Start of Season:
Lupul/JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul/JVR - Kadri - Clarkson
Komarov - Holland - Frattin
Winnik - Santa - Booth
Ashton
End of Season:
Lupul/JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul/JVR - Kadri - Leivo
Santorelli - Holland - Clarkson
Winnik - Kontiola - Broll
Frattin
Lose to Waivers during Season: Ashton, Smith, Booth
Clears to Marlies: Orr, McLaren, Abbott, Kozun,
Waiver Exempt to Marlies to Start Season: Leivo, Nylander, Carrick, Broll, Devane, Kontiola
