When a team retains cap, is it just for one year? I wouldn't mind Lupul at a reduced cap hit (3.5 max, he is injured far too often), but I believe teams can only retain salary for the remainder of the year of the trade...correct me if I'm wrong please

I don't think the habs will get Lupul, any rumour involving the habs is most likely false. You never see a Bergevin trade coming, like the Sekac trade, they come out of nowhere
