who cares? they got TERRIBLE value for Hamilton, Hamilton alone is worth the 3rd overall pick and then some. the best case scenario for Hanifin is that he turns into a player like Hamilton.

Its irrelevant. What are the chances that 3rd pick develops into a better player than Hamilton? Even if that 3rd pick do end up being better someday, it'll take a while and by that time, several of their key guys will be gone.

Its irrelevant how many picks they have right now. And they cant even package these picks for help now due to the cap with so many bad contracts.

The Bruins had no money to resign Hamilton and he was a likely target for offer sheets already.

Lesser of 2 evils right there.

LOL they were offered more and turned it down. What in the actual **** is going on.

Apparently they were offered a higher pick than 15, but that means they could have been offered the 11 pick and that is all. They picked up an additional 2 2nd rounders.

I understand that just fine.

This trade is dumb because this doesnt fix the bad contracts the Bs have. This is a solution to minimize the losses on the short term, but its a very bad deal regardless.

They have several overpaid guys and they should've dealt those. They should've started doing that, albeit slowly, 2 years.

You dont fix your cap issues by dealing away the young guys and keeping the older overpaid players (Lucic, Marchand are overpaid and Kreici surely isnt worth that contract, even tho he's a fine player).

Even after these 2 horrendous trades you listed, they still won the Kessel trade:

Kessel for Eriksson, Reilly Smith, J. Morrow, #15, #45 and #52.

Yeah when you look at it like that. But if you look at it in terms of them getting a #1C and #1D for him and ending up with that, not so good

There is no fixing for the bad contracts they have. Terrible management in the past put them on track for what happened today.

And this is why some people are sweating bullets when Kessel get mentioned on this board, the "small" mistake you do today will come bite you in the arse tomorrow.
