- Hemsky's awesome, would have loved to keep him, but he's hungry for another taste of the playoffs in a contract year.
- Allen's a big aggressive veteran defender that has allowed Sami Vatanen's offensive flair to succeed in the NHL. With Weber seeing the heavy assignments, we'll pair Allen with J. Schultz and see if their styles of play mesh well.
- Steckel's a useful veteran 4th line center that can win faceoffs, penalty kill, and be six foot six.
- Anton Lander has been assigned to the Oklahoma City Barons of the AHL.

We confirm. Giving up a 1st is tough, but Hemsky at half price is a great addition to our team. Bryan Allen was mostly a cap dump, but can also be a servicable defenseman on the Oilers. Thanks to Soli for easy talks.

The Winnipeg Jets have traded forward Evander Kane, defenseman Keaton Ellerby, along with Winnipeg 2014 2nd round pick to the New Jersey Devils for defenseman Adam Larsson, along with forwards Adam Henrique, Reid Boucher and Cam Janssen.

"We are thrilled to add three young players that will be part of our core for years to come. Larsson will be part of an incredible top 4 group with Enstrom, Bogosian and Trouba. Henrique will give us more options down the middle and while Boucher is a different player than Kane, he will fit very well on our 2nd line LW. Kane has a huge potential but things were not working in Winnipeg for different reasons. We will not elaborate on that. We wish Ellerby and him the best of luck in New Jersey."
