They play marginal minutes and shouldn't be counted on for offence.

As a watcher of the game of hockey, Northern Dancer, proud member of the Brian Burke fan club, you should know this.

Would have to disagree here - really good teams like Chicago or LA have bottom six players who routinely provide their team with scoring depth.

Good teams aren't top heavy, they're balanced.

So wait...

The premise is the Leafs failed because they didn't score enough.

And the Leafs needed Jay McClement and the rest of the bottom six to score...

Nothing to do with shots and goals agaist?

Nothing to do with our top two lines being lost defensively and unable to possess the puck?

Nothing to do with that?

Really?

Take a look at McClements possession stats. While the top of the lineup wasn't great. He was one of the worst.

Also interms of production per minute played, he was the 3rd worst in the league.

Getting rid of him and bringing in some more productive people on the 3rd line is a good start.

Those who keep changing the goalposts are the ones losing the discussion. Keep swinging Bomber you just might get one right.

The Leafs have zero balance.

Defence, Goaltending and Balance win Stanley Cups.

Bernier has a great shot at being a game changer.
But I guess we need to see the guy play a full year of goalie as the #1 and we haven't seen that.

Balance ? Defence ?
Ouch.

The Leafs were getting tight on cap space with 14 guys signed.
Horrible cap management.
